About Oak Forest Recovery

At Oak Forest Recovery, we believe that families should be part of the healing process for addiction and mental health challenges. We are based in Westlake Village and we welcome families into our program from the very first day. We believe that long‑term recovery is built on clear communication, structured support, and patient‑centered care. Everything we do reflects that belief.

Our Roots and Philosophy

Many treatment programs separate families from their loved ones. We have seen the damage that causes. Families feel shut out and powerless. When the person in treatment returns home, the old patterns remain. We set out to do things differently.
Oak Forest Recovery was founded by people who have lived through addiction and who understand the importance of family engagement. Our philosophy is family‑first and relationship‑centered. When you call us for the first time, you will speak with a member of our leadership team. We will explain our approach and invite you into the process. We believe in transparency and honesty.
You can learn more on our mission and philosophy page, which goes into our core values in detail.

A Structured Recovery Program

There are no quick fixes when it comes to recovery from substance abuse and related mental health issues. It takes time, structure and support.  Our addiction recovery program starts with a thorough assessment of medical, psychological, and social factors. Each client is assigned a therapist, a case manager and a family therapist. These professionals work together to create a plan that meets the needs of the person in treatment and their family.
The first phase of our program lasts about 90 days. Clients live in our residences and attend daily therapy and skills groups. As they stabilize, they move into a less intensive phase where they continue therapy and live in a supportive sober living environment. The final phase helps them reintegrate into daily life while still receiving guidance. This approach is known as a “step‑down” model. You can read more about our step-down treatment model to see how each phase builds on the one before.
Our program offers outpatient services for those who need a flexible schedule. We also provide a structured recovery program for clients who need more support. By combining clinical care with sober living, we create a continuum of care that adapts to each person’s progress.

Our Values and Approach

We describe our program as comprehensive because it addresses every part of a person’s life. But being comprehensive does not mean being cold or impersonal. Our values guide every decision we make:

Family‑centered Care

We believe addiction is a family disease. We host regular family meetings, educational sessions, and support groups. Loved ones learn about addiction, boundaries, and healthy communication. This shared learning helps the whole system heal.

Clinical Excellence

Our staff includes licensed therapists and medical professionals. We use evidence‑based therapies like CBT and EMDR when appropriate. Every intervention is chosen with the client and their family.

Transparency and Honesty

We keep families informed. If there is a change in treatment or medication, we explain why. You will never be left wondering what is happening.

Long‑term Perspective

We know that real change takes time. Our long-term recovery approach focuses on building a foundation for life after treatment. We help clients find work, pursue education, and rebuild relationships.

What Makes Oak Forest Different

Families who come to us often tell us that they felt ignored at other programs. They were told to trust the process but were never told what the process was. Their loved one finished treatment and came home without any change to the family system. Relapse followed.
Oak Forest does the opposite. We bring families in. We teach and coach them. We offer 24/7 support through group chats and scheduled meetings. We guide families on how to set and hold boundaries. We help them develop confidence in their own role. We keep communication open at all times. We provide a community that continues to support both clients and families long after the formal program ends.
Our program combines a structured recovery framework with compassionate care. We are re‑designing mental health and addiction care by putting families at the center. We offer comprehensive addiction treatment, sober living, and a step‑down model that adjusts to each client’s needs.

Looking Forward

Oak Forest Recovery is committed to evolving while staying true to our core principles. We will keep refining our structured recovery program, integrating new evidence‑based practices, and expanding support for families.
If you are looking for an addiction recovery program that values transparency, clinical excellence, and family involvement, we invite you to learn more. We are here to answer your questions, explain our approach, and support you through every step of the process.
Oak Forest is more than a treatment center; it is a community. Families are not left out. They are part of the journey. And together, we can build a foundation for long‑term recovery.
